16 people have died in Russia plane crash carrying skydivers – reports say
The plane was a L-410 Turbolet, carrying 23 people believed to be skydivers crashed around 06:23 GMT. Reports revealed the tragic incident happened during a flight over the Republic of Tatsrstan. Only seven people have been rescued from the debris, the ministry confirmed on its Telegram channel.
Images published on Telegram by the ministry showed how the aircraft had broken beyond recognition. Reports that Russia frequently sees non fatal air incidents, resulting in rerouted flights and emergency landings, usually immanating from technical problems.

Just last month, an ageing Antonov An-26 transport plane crashed in Russia’s far East, killing six people. A similar incident occurred somewhere in July in Kamchatka, killing all 28 people on board an Antonov An-26 twin-engine turboprop.
