Celine Dion has strongly opposed the use of her well-known song “My Heart Will Go On” during a recent rally for Donald Trump in Montana, saying that it was done without her authorization. The 1997 hit, which became famous as the theme for the film Titanic, was played along with a video of Dion performing the song, which was shown on a large screen at the event. In response, Dion’s team and Sony Music Entertainment Canada issued a statement on social media clarifying that neither the video nor the song’s use had been approved. They also expressed surprise at the choice of that particular song for the rally.
The incident has sparked online discussions with many people drawing comparisons between Trump’s campaign and the doomed Titanic, highlighting the irony of using that specific song as Trump faces increased political challenges, especially after Kamala Harris gained ground in the race following Joe Biden’s decision to step down.
