40 military officers arrested after a failed coup attempt in Sudan.

Reports reaching News247gh.com confirm a failed coup attempt in Sudan. A group of Soldiers attempted a coup on Monday according to Sudanese state television but it was unsuccessful.

It is still unclear who led the attempt coup while investigations are still ongoing. Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok has blame loyalists of former leader al Bashir for the coup attempt.

Sudan is currently being ruled by a power sharing arrangement between the military and civilian power fighters since Al Bashir was ousted out of office in 2019.

About 40 soldiers have been arrested while a search is still ongoing to arrest more officers believed to be involved in the ‘coup attempt’
