56year old man burnt to death in midnight fire outbreak at Kumasi Asafo

56year old man has been burnt to death at Kumasi Asafo, Ashanti region of Ghana. Samuel Kwadwo Fordjour struggled at midnight when it all started.

Speaking to JoyNews, he’s neighbours narrate the story of his sad exit. According to them, they heard Mr Fordjour calling for a helping hand in the midst of the inferno and on reaching him at the top floor of the storey building, they smelled smoke and also saw smokes coming from sides of the door. So as he continued to scream, they decided to open the door, only to pour more fuel to the situation because air entered the room immediately the door was opened, causing the fire to spark up more so eventually, they had no option than to move back.

By the time they tried to quench the fire, he was burnt to ashes. The fire gutted Mr Kwadwo’s room including four other neighbours apartments, displacing other nine tenants including aged women.

‘We’re displaced now, we actually have no place to go. All our belongings have been swept away by the fire. We’re begging the government to come to our aid’ one grownup woman told JoyNews
