Adidas’s shares dropped by 4% just minutes after they announced they’ve parted ways with Ye (Kanye West)

Many companies in the United States, and across the world are boycotting Ye, (Kanye West) weeks after his antisemitic comment on Jews. Weeks ago, Ye, (Kanye West) took to his twitter platform to ask his followers who they think created cancel culture. “Who you think created cancel culture” Ye tweeted after saying “death con 3 on Jewish people” in a similar tweet”. His statement caused several controversies among Americans, most especially the Jewish community.

Adidas is just one of the latest brands that have parted ways with the American rapper. The German sports company said its cutting ties with Ye with immediate effect. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violates the company’s values and diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness” the company said.

Adidas, GAP Inc., Balenciaga and many other brands are companies on the list who have cut ties with the billionaire. The question to ask is this. Will this affect his wealth status?. Well, the answer is yes. It definitely will.

Just last month, Adidas described their partnership with Ye as “one of the most successful collaborations in the industry’s history” and they will like to continue co-managing Yeezy products but its now unfortunate things have turned this way sharply. Ye have always had a contrary view to Black Ideology. He has stood against the Black Lives Matter movement since its inception. It became more intense after the gruesome murder of George Floyd in 2020.

The rapper was seen wearing White Lives Matter t-shirt on some occasions just to prove his point. He believe in the policies ideologies of the Republican party. He visited president Trump at the White House before his tenure ended. Months after, he declared his intentions to run for President on the ticket of the Republican party but it wasn’t successful. He has since not tweeted in 2years. But his first tweet after two years was a 2024 Cap, meaning he still have interest of being President. He however was suspended on the social media platform minutes after.
