Akufo-Addo’s Gov’t is Avoiding Accountability – NDC Minority Reveals

The NDC Minority in parliament have asserted that Akufo-Addo’s government is avoiding accountability. The finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, was supposed to appear before parliament to give reasons to why Akufo-Addo’s trip to France and other selected countries cost so high.

Ken Ofori-Atta has requested more time to make his presence available in parliament. On the other hand, the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa (NDC MP) has indicated that the finance minister has employed delay tactics to conceal the truth.

He said, “Now we’ve brought them to a more appropriate forum where they are constitutional bound to be accountable and there are all of these delayed tactics.”

President Akufo-Addo has been accused of raping the public purse despite the economic hardship. His recent trip to France and other selected countries cost over a million Ghanaian cedis.

Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa revealed that the what is happening clearly shows that the government needs time to tie some loose ends.

It must strike you as very strange because really what do they have to hide. It’s as though something is happening behind the scenes and they need time to complete whatever they are doing,” he stated.
