Antonio Percassi sells 55% of Atalanta shares

Owner of Atalanta, Antonio Percassi has reached agreement to sell 55% of the clubs shares to an investment group.

Antonio Percassi will however remain President of Atalanta according to reports.

He has been negotiating with an investment company for some weeks now. But things have been finalized as we speak. A United States investment group managed by Stephen Pagliuca has agreed to own 55% of Atalanta. The group is co-owned by Boston Celtics.

Antonio purchased relegated Atalanta in 2010 for £18million. He was able to manage the club to its current status for 12years. And now, selling 55% of it worth 400million Stephen Pagliuca (Bolton Celtics.

There are currently a lot of American investors who are owners of more clubs in Europe. United States investors own 8 clubs in Serie A for instance. They also have a lot of shares in the English Premier league
