Attention for Ukraine proves bias against black lives – Tedros

Director General of World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Ghebreyesus said “the World is not treating human race the same way”

According to the World Health Organization Chief, the way leaders across the world are giving much attention to Ukraine “pains” him because it looks like only a fraction of such help is given to other humanitarian crisis which should not be so.

“I need to be blunt, the world is not treating the woman race the same way. It pains me but its happening. I hope the world comes back to its senses and treats all human life equally” he said

Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus also posted a video on his twitter page, pleading with Russia to stop attacking Ukrainian Health Centres, and to come back to the negotiating table

“Thousands of civilians have died. 119 attacking health care have been verified. For the sake of humanity, I urge Russia to come back to the table and to work for peace” he posted

War broke out between Tigray and Ethiopian government in November 2020 and there have since been tensions in the region. World Health Organization Chief, Tedros Ghebreyesus who is from Tigray raised concerns of developments in Tigray, saying the world is paying less attention to his people.

The war between Ethiopia and TPLF rebel group has so far killed many civilians. Properties have been destroyed and the girl child have been raped, including pregnant women.
