Bolt app is donating €5 million to support Ukraine as Russians wage war against the nation. Chief Executive Officer of the company, Marcus Villig announced the good news on his twitter page.
“Today, Bolt app is donating €1 million to support Ukraine. Over €4 million more to come over next 2 weeks” he said.

A lot of employers and billionaires have pledged their support for the European country days after Russia’s military offensive.
The company also removes Russian products from Bolt market and shuts down operations in Belarus. Marcus Villig said the step will cause his company a lot of millions but its worth it.
“This will cause us millions but freedom is worth more”
More companies continue to ban Russia on its platforms. Google also removes the monetization status from Russian state media days ago.
“Coming from Estonia we know the value of freedom all too well. Our parents and grandparents were waiting for the occupation to end to end for 48 long years. Europe cannot make the same mistake again”
“we are taking 3 big steps:
- Donating 5% of all European Bolt orders the next two weeks to support the Ukrainian people
- Removing Russian products from Bolt market
- Shutting down our operations in Belarus. These will cost us millions, but freedom is worth more” Villig posted.
