Bristol shooting: 2 Connecticut Police officers killed

New reports have revealed that suspect involve in last week’s shooting fired about 80 shots at police officers

Two officers were killed with one surviving injuries after they responded to a “fake 911 call” Reports say. Sgt. Dustin Demonte and Alex Hamzy were killed on the spot after gunshot exchange. Officer Alec Iurato however survived and was discharged from the hospital hours after the tragic incident.

According to CBS, three Connecticut police officers received a 911 call from brothers who were having domestic dispute. One neighbour, name not identified, who heard the shots told CBS news it was very traumatising scene as he heard gunshots repeatedly loud.

One of the officers had just celebrated his first wedding anniversary this summer but unfortunately, he will not go back to his lovely family. The second officer who also died left behind two children and an expectant mother. One of two brothers who lured the police into their domestic assault was shot while the other survived with severe wounds.

Gun violence in the United States has been on the rise. 54 police officers have been killed since the beginning of the year according to reports. Last year 62 police officers were killed. According to reports, about 316 lives are lost in the United States through gun violence. Many Americans believe guns should be banned or strick measures should be put in place to regulate the possession of guns.
