The latest coup in West Africa was led by Burkina Faso’s Ibrahim Traore. Traore is just 34years of age, becoming Africa’s youngest leader and for that matter the world’s youngest.
But who is Ibrahim Traore?
Like I said earlier, Ibrahim Traore is now the youngest president in the world. He became the president of Burkina Faso after a coup on September 30,2022. He officially became president on October 6, 2022.

West Africa region has become the Head Quarters for coup d’etat. The recent one that happened in Burkina Faso took place within a space of nine months. And between 2021 and 2022, there have been a staggering coup d’etats in West Africa.
Burkina Faso’s Ibrahim Traore who is 34years, have military head of state. The military junta after the operation appointed him as the country’s President. The constitution of Burkina Faso was immediately devolved. He however promised Ecowas Bloc that his country will have elections in July 2023.
