Contagious covid-19 delta variant found in SHS School, Accra

Deadly coronavirus is still here with us and as we speak, a very contagious variant found it’s way into one of our SHS Schools in Accra. Dr. Franklin Asiedu Bekoe who happens to be the Director of Public Health at Ghana Health of Service announced this sad news on Friday July 3rd.
“we had the information that the school had actually detected a delta variant and this somehow confirms what we were anticipating. The parents of the students who have been infected have been informed” he said
Ghana Health Service has therefore warned Ghanaians to keep up with World Health Organizations safety protocols especially wearing of mask when we step out.
Ghana’s Ministry of Information had earlier said the delta variant of covid-19 has been found in one community in the country.
“At 10:00hours on Friday, 2 July 2021, the covid-19 task force was advised by the Ghana Health Service that the delta variant of the SARS cov 2 virus has been recorded within a community (ie non arriving passengers) in the latest round of genomic sequencing. The relevant agencies are taking the necessary steps to ensure that the spread is contained” Ministry of Information emphasized.
it also revealed that the very people who tested positive are in good health and are receiving treatment
