Coup Leader of Mali, Assimi Goita declares himself President

Military coup leader, Assimi Goita has declared himself as President of Mali. This follows after Mali’s President and his Prime Minister were detained by the military. Goita made the announcement after stripping President Bah Ndaw and his Duputy, Moctar Ouane.
There has been power struggle in mali for a while now. Somewhere last year, former President of the Republic of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings of blessed memory has to step in as a mediator. He was greatly praised after a meeting was help in Ghana, bringing peace to Mali for months. Assimi Goita led that junta to Ghana.
Col. Assimi who is only 38years led two coups since last year. He seized power few days ago after President Bah’s administration failed to consult him about the formation of a new government. Col. Assimi Goita on Thursday 27th of May made an official statement, declaring himself as president of Mali
