Do not go to Kabul airport – U.S embassy in Afghanistan warn citizens of possible security threats

U.S embassy in Afghanistan has issued a security alert, advising citizens to stay off Kabul airport on grounds of ‘possible security issues’. The statement warns of possible security threats at the gates of Kabul airport

“we are advising U.S citizens to avoid travelling to the airports and to avoid airports gates at this time unless you receive individual instructions from a U.S government representative to do so. Do not call the US embassy in Kabul for details or updates about the flights. This form is the only way to communicate interest in flight options” the statement said.

The statement also asked American citizens in Afghanistan who have not filed out a Repatriation Assistance Request form to do so as soon possible.
