Do not interfere with how Afghanistan women should dress, you should not be changing our culture as we don’t change yours – Taliban warn America to stay off how their women should dress.
Spokesman for Taliban, Suhail Shaheen told Fox News on Friday September 3 that no country should tell them how their women should dress. According him, Afghanistan will never try to change any aspect or form of the culture of any nation so they should not change that of Afghanistan either. A question was asked on whether Afghan women will be using the hijab. Suhail made it clear there is nothing wrong with women using hijab at work or for educational purposes. He told Fox News he doesn’t support Afghan women having their education without using hijab.
“There will be no issue about women’s rights. No problem about their education, their work. They can receive education with hijab, they can work with hijab. But we should not be changing each other’s culture as we’re not intending to change your culture, you should not be changing our culture. We have closed the chapter. We have to focus on the future that is better for them and us” he said
Taliban is hours way of forming an interim government. There have been worries about how women’s rights will be respected under their ruling
