Dr Congo buries Patrice Lumumba’s tooth today

A burial ceremony is underway in Dr Congo, Kinshasa for the country’s first Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba
Patrice Lumumba’s tooth is the only remains brought to Dr Congo last week by Belgian government.
His gold-crowned tooth was returned after his brutal killing 61 years ago. Patrice Lumumba was assassinated, buried, exhumed and cut into pieces.

His dismembered body was then thrown in acid to hide any form of evidence of this heinous crime. Though he fought for the Congolese people against Colonial Belgium for independence, his own people sold him out, leading to his assassination.
Patrice Lumumba was born July 2, 1925 in a village of Onalua in the Congolese province of Kassi. He became a great political figure who help liberated the people from colonial rule and eventually becoming the country’s first Prime Minister.
