Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy has been named the best goalkeeper in the world according to FIFA. He was named the best FIFA men’s goalkeeper for 2021.

Edouard Mendy in his receiving statement said he is very grateful and happy he’s the first African goalkeeper to win the award.
“what a pride to receive this award today. I am even prouder to be the first African goalkeeper in history to win this title, and I hope to pave the way for many others. The first word that comes to my mind is thank you. Thank you to my companion, my children, my family and all those around me”
He also appreciate his club coach and country coach, and all those who trained and continue to train him, and promise to keep on working on very hard to keep the standard
“I will continue to work hard, as I have always done, to maintain this level of performance” Mendy said
