Five Ghanaaian police officers interdicted for robbery and extortion, demand Ghs20000 from victim

Five police officers who were supposed to be on patrol duties, to help protect citizens were rather found to be extorting money from citizens. Five police officers on Monday, May 24 were held by Kaneshie police station for allegedly robbing one young man ‘who did nothing wrong’

Officers involve include Lawal Agyapong, Sena Kuwordo, Lance Corporal Redeemer Agama, Constables Wishwell Odoo and Evan Arawassi. PRO, DDP Effia Tenge revealed that these five officers have been interdicted.

The Regional Police Command is assuring members of the public that it will not shield any police officer who hides in the uniform to perpetrate crimes against the very members of the community they are supposed to be protecting. She said

narrating his ordeal, the victim disclosed on cititv that he was asked by these officers to pay an amount of Ghs20000 before he can be freed. ‘You know my girlfriend is in the United Kingdom and we’re both planning some business, these police officers took my phone, went into my email and searched through it. They asked that, I pay them Ghs20000 before I can he released ‘ he revealed
