Former heavyweight champion and mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko has joined Ukrainian military to fight Russian soldiers that have invaded their land.

The former heavyweight boxer who is now the mayor of Ukrainian capital Kyiv says the Kyiv city is the only city they cherish. And has vowed not to sit aloof as if nothing is happening.

“We defend our city. They try to destroy our city and our country. We must endure. Glory to Ukraine” Vitali Klitschko tweeted hours ago.

He has been mayor of Kyiv since 2014. Now he says he’s ready to defend his land. Vitali Klitschko won many battles in the ring, now it has come to the real life where, he has to defend his precious land.

President and commander in chief if the Ukrainian armed forces, Volodymyr Zelensky has also joined the fight.
