Ghana Government to purchase a new bigger Presidential jet according to Eugene Arhin.

Director of Communications, Eugene Ahrin confirmed that the NPP Government will soon purchase a new aircraft for the Presidency. Mr. Arhin said Dominic Nitiwul who is the Defence Miniter has already started procedures in that regard.

“I don’t want to go into details but I am sure that when the minister gets the opportunity, he will give further information of what the government is doing in that respect. I am sure of the fact that government is already in the process of getting a bigger jet for use. You will recollect that when the Government of President Kufuor left office in 2008, it had procured two jets. The current Falcon and a bigger one but for one reason or the other, the bigger jet was cancelled. The Defence Minister stated clearly that the Government has decided to buy a bigger jet to save us all these troubles” Mr Arhin revealed.

Ghana’s current President, Nana Akufo-Addo has come under massive criticisms for chartering luxury aircraft fo his travels.

Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who happens to be a Member of Parliament of Ghana has criticized the President for causing financial loss the state for using these chartered aircrafts . Mr. Ablakwa, an MP for North Tongu revealed Nana Akufo-Addo’s recent trips costs the tax payer not less than $1.6mollion.
