Ghana police arrest 33 prostitutes at Accra, Pokuase with majority being Nigerians

33 suspected prostitutes have been arrested by Ghana police. The arrest was carried out by the district police commander, Deputy Superintendent of police, DSP Dickson Obeng, with the support of Ghana immigration service, GIS, National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO and task force from the GA North Municipal Assembly.
A profiling conducted indicated that majority of these suspected prostitutes were Nigerians. Suspects between age 20 and 25 were foreigners and among them, more than half percentage were from Nigeria.
The police detailed that the structures these suspected prostitutes were occupying were also used us grounds for drug peddlers who use these small structures as hideouts. Ghana police said it has demolished more than hundred structures within this enclave. Prostitution is an illegal practice in Ghana
