I deployed soldiers to Ejura, Ashanti Regional minister brags

Ashanti Regional minister Mr Simon osei has accepted responsibility for the recent deployment of soldiers to Ejura, where Ibrahim Mohammed aka Kaaka was killed in mob attack.
According to the Regional minister, the deployment was the only option available to calm tensions but according to security experts, deployment of soldiers for crowd management was very inappropriate. According to them, that is definitely not the job of soldiers but rather the police.
“Yes I did, I requested for their support as Regional chairman of the Regional security council. I got intel that after the burial of Kaaka, they were going to burn the police station including the two persons who were arrested. That wont help us. I can say on Authority that since 1992, 2020 was the firstime we voted in Ejura without chaos and we didn’t use the police alone. We used the police and military” he said
He continued “you can go to our archives and check. You can’t do the same thing every time and get different results. You can’t be effective in the area of security without being truthful” he detailed.
Two people were killed in Ejura protest with several people injured.
