President of the United States, Joe Biden will not attend late Pope Benedict’s funeral

According to reports, it is the wish of late Pope Benedict and Vatican for President Joe Biden not to attend his funeral. Pope benedict XVI died December last year, hours into January 2023.

Answering questions on his funeral and preparations for President Joe Biden’s attendance, Jean pierre who happens to be the spokes person at the White House said instead of Joe Biden attending the funeral, the Vatican demands that US ambassador attends. According to her, that is the wish of late Pope Benedict XVI and the Vatican.

“The US ambassador to the Holy See will represent the US at the funeral in line with the wishes of the late Pope and the Vatican. This is what their wishes were” she emphasized.
