It is now illegal for your boss to message you after work in Portugal
Portugal has passed a new labour which prevents employers or your bosses to call their subordinates after work. The new labour laws also provide people with a balanced lifestyle
The laws also prevents employers from monitoring the activities of employees while they work from home. This law however only applies to companies in operations with more than 10 employees.

“The pandemic has accelerated the need to regulate what needs to be regulated. We consider Portugal one of the best places in the world for these digital nomads and remote workers to choose to live in, we want to attract them to Portugal. Telework can be a game changer if we profit from the advantages and reduce the disadvantages” Ana Mendes Godinho who is the Minister of Labour and Social Security said in Web summit tech conference held in Lisbon days ago.

Portugal was the first country in Europe to change its remote working rules when covid-19 pandemic hit most countries in Europe. The new laws are part of the county’s broader legislation, the Socialist Party government revealed.
