West Ham United defender, Kurt Zouma has apologized for abusing his cat. The defender was seen in a viral footage kicking his cat like football on his kitchen floor.

The video is believed to have been filmed by his brother according to Sky Sports. In the video, Kurt Zouma is seen picking the cat up high and then releasing it on the floor before kicking it around the kitchen. His brother, Yoan has not confirmed he was the one behind the disturbing video but he posted it on his Snapchat page.

His club West Ham United issued a statement to condemn the player’s behaviour, citing the club does not condone cruelty towards animals and will deal with Zouma privately.
“West Ham United unreservedly condemns the actions of our player, Kurt Zouma, in the video that has circulated. We have spoken to Kurt and will be dealing with the matter internally, but we would like to make it clear that we in no way condone cruelty towards animals” the club said.

Kurt Zouma also issued a statement on the matter citing that it was an isolated issue in his apology.
“I also want to say how deeply sorry I am to anyone who was upset by the video. I would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy. They are loved one cherished by our entire family, and this behaviour was an isolated incident that will not happen again” Zouma said.
