Man dies on lagos motel after meeting a Lady he met online

A 55 year old man, Abdulwaheed Lamido has died after meeting a lady he met online at Court International motel, council bus stop on ikotun, Lagos state of Nigeria.

The 32 year old lady reportedly travelled from her house in another state to visit Lamidi in Lagos on Saturday, After they met on and began a romantic relationship.

While they were lodged in the motel, thing’s took a drastic turn when Lamidi suddenly slumped in the toilet, prompting the lady to call for help on Sunday morning.

When some employees of the motel rushed into the room they found Lamidi lying motionless on the ground.

” The girl said the man wanted to enter the toilet but slumped and fell on the floor. A doctor that works in a hospital close to the motel was called and when the doctor arrived he go to the room, he certified the man dead.

“The girl said she came to lagos to meet the man as he promised yo marry her she came with some property and had the intention of moving into his house to be his wife. Instead of going to the man’s house, they went to the hotel and they were in the room when the girl ran put calling for help because the man slumped.

“So, when people rushed to the room, they found him lying unconscious on the ground, The incident happened around 8:40 am on Sunday but the girl arrived from her state on Saturday. The girl said she met the man online and that they had been chatting.”

Lamidi’s corpse has been deposited in a cemetery while the woman, whose name was not reveled was arrested for interrogation.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relation Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the lady refused to involve her parents in the case.

Hundeyin said;

“We have made contact to the deceased’s family and they have shown uo. They are applying to just get their corpse. They were not interested in any criminal investigation but the command is still considering their application through it’s legal department.

“Decision is yet to be taken, but the corpse is been deposited in a mortuary. The lady is still in custody.
