English football club Manchester United announce it has part ways with Russian national airline. The football club and Aeroflot have been partners for years until Putin’s Russia invaded Ukraine.

Aeroflot will no more sponsor Manchester United going forward.
The statement reads “in light of events in Ukraine, we have withdrawn Aeroflot’s sponsorship rights. We share the concerns with our fans around the world and extend our sympathies to those affected”
Samuel Luckhurst who writes for Manchester United disclosed that a season ticket holder wrote to the club, seeking further clarifications on the matter.

Manchester and Aeroflot have been in partnership since 2013. The contract was renewed in 2017 according to reports but have been terminated in 2022.
The UK government had earlier banned Aeroflot from operating in and out of the united Kingdom. In addition, there’s a ban on the airline using UK airspace.
