#BuhariForPrison2023 campaign hashtag started by Reno Omokri, a Nigerian activist. While investigations are still ongoing, many Nigerians believe the President masterminded and gave orders leading to the Lekki Toll Gate massacre during the EndSars protest in 2020. Many Nigerian youths lost their lives through the chaos incident at Lekki after a group of soldiers fired live shots into protesters.

Many Activists across the world including Kelvin Mawunya Ashong, were some of the protesters online, who joined many Nigerians on social media.
Many Nigeria influencers, movie and artistes like Wizkid, Teni, Davido, Burna Boy etc. also added their voices online. Some also joined Nigerians on protest grounds
President Buhari’s term ends in 2023. Many Nigerians believe the petition by the International Criminal Court could bring justice to many young Nigerians who lost their lives during the protest, and to their families as well. For now, the petition will continue and will enter into the festive season right into 2022. It is not only Nigerians citizens living in Nigeria that have neen signing this petition. Citizens from different countries have all joined including Nigerians in the diaspora.
