President Macky sall of Senegal has declared today a national holiday for the people of Senegal as they celebrate country’s first Afcon title.

The President said today’s public holiday is to celebrate the nationals football team’s first ever Africa Cup of Nations crown. This followed their victory against Egypt after decades of heartbreaking fights. Fire works, car horns and other celebrations greeted the victory of the Senegalese team in the capital of Dakar and other major cities. People from all over Africa and across the world also took to the streets to surprisingly celebrate with them. People who were rooting for Senegal celebrated all over the place from Nigeria, Ghana, to Morocco and some parts of Europe.

Early before he declared today as a national holiday, he posted a tweet to congratulate the team for their tremendous success.
