President Nana Akufo-Addo grants Presidential pardon to imprisoned Abuga Pele

President Nana Akufo-Addo has granted a presidential pardon to former Member of Parliament and former National Coordinator of defunct Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency, GYEEDA.

Abuga Pele was hospitalized about 5weeks ago after suffering an undisclosed illness at the High Dependency Unit reports say. Mr Abuga pele including his accomplice, Chief Executive of Goodwill International Group, Philip Assibit were all found guilty of 19 counts for causing financial loss to the state. Some of the counts included intentionally misappropriation of public property and causing financial loss. He was found guilty of 13 out of 19 counts. Philip Assibit was also found guilty of 6 of 19 counts he was charged with including defrauding by false pretence.

It is alleged that Abuga Pele entered into agreement with Assibit Phillip in the name of the state to make payments when zero work was accomplished.

Philip is accused of putting in false claim for payments amounting to 3.3million Ghana cedis as service provided to NYEP.

What necessitated the pardon was ill health
