President Zelensky says over 100,000 people are trapped in Mariupol
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his latest video explains his people are trapped in Mariupol. The Ukrainian President said over 100,000 people are trapped and can’t have access to basic needs.
According to President Zelensky, there is currently no water, electricity, medicine or even food for the people. President Zelensky said Mariupol is under constant shelling by the Russian army, and the place is currently “under full blockade”

“At the present moment, there are about 100,000 living in the city (Mariupol) in inhumane conditions. Under complete seige. Without food and water, under constant shelling and bombardments” he said
There was total blackout in Mariupol when Russian army invaded the city weeks ago. There have been series of street battles between the Russian army and Ukrainian army in Mariupol according to reports.
BBC reports that over 1000s have lost their lives in Mariupo. The news outlet also say nearly 90% of buildings in Mariupol have been damaged.
“For several weeks we have been trying to organize stable humanitarian corridors for Mariupol residents. Almost all our attempts have been unfortunately obstructed by shelling or deliberate terror by Russian occupiers. Nevertheless, we have still managed to evacuate 7,026 residents from Mariupol. We’ll continue this important work tomorrow” Bloomberg disclosed
