Bill Gates of worth $131 billion. Bill Gates, among top World richest has been accused of not “being who the world think he is”
The Gates Foundation is the largest of its kind in the world with holdings of $50 billion according to reports. They created the Alliance for a Geen Revolution in Africa, AGRA with a goal to double farm yields and income for 30 million poor Africans in 13 countries.
“After 14 years AGRA had not increased income and had actually increased hunger by 30% in those 13 African Nations. AGRA introduces GMO and patented plants and chemicals. These technologies often undermine food security and only benefit big AG corporations” Lee Camp posted.
GMO’s are Genetically Modified Organisms, any organism who’s genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. A large variety of Organisms have already been genetically modified, from animals to plants and microorganisms. What this means is that genes have been transferred within same species across species creating transgenic organisms.
Many activists across Africa have kicked against GMO’s method being used us a food security measure on the continent.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has also worked with the World Economic Forum to co-opt the United Food Systems. Reports that last week 500 civil society groups boycotted the United Nations Food Systems Summit. Check this thread on twitter to read more
