The Bayern Munich star strongly believe the FIFA award is the best award in the world. According to him, ballon d’Or is an award which has no ‘clear verification’ because it only gets its mandate by journalists who casts their votes and to him, that makes FIFA award the best.

“I have been thinking of these two awards lately. FIFA, the best and the ballon d’Or. I’ve come to the conclusion that the FIFA award does matter more. Only journalists vote in the latter, there is no clear verification” Robert Lewandowski revealed.

Robert Lewandowski has never won ballon d’Or best player award. He however a won couple of awards from the scheme but not the topmost award. Last year for instance, he won best men’s striker award.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have dominated the awards since its inception in 2008.

Messi won it 7 times while Ronaldo won it 5 times. Luka Modric is the only player who challenged their dominance in 2018. Check statistics below
