Russia foreign minister says the country’s goal is to oust Zelensky

Russia foreign minister Sergey Lavrov says his country’s main goal is to topple government of Ukraine and the removal of President Volodymyr Zelensky from office

Russia foreign minister Sergey Lavrov is currently in Africa for a visit. He was in Egypt yesterday, and now in the Republic of Congo today and will also visit Uganda and Ethiopia.

He made his comments in Egyptian capital Cairo in the wake of Ukraine’s efforts to resume grain exports from its Black sea ports. Meanwhile, Russia missiles striked Ukrainian port of Odesa just a day after it signed agreement with Ukraine by the help of United Nations and Turkiye.

Sergey Lavrov told his colleague envoys at an Arab League Summit in Cairo on Sunday that the Russian Federation is poised to assisting the people of Eastern Ukraine to free themselves from an acceptable regime.

“We are determined to help the people of Ukraine to help themselves from the burden of this absolutely unacceptable regime. We will certainly help the Ukrainian people to get rid of the regime, which is absolutely anti-people and anti-historical” ABC News disclosed

He also cleared the air on the recent nuking of the port of Odesa, saying Russia did not create any hurdle in accordance with the agreement made in Turkiye.

“We haven’t created any hurdles to grain deliveries in accordance with agreement signed in Istanbul. The agreements contain nothing that will prevent us from continuing the special military operation and destroying military infrastructure and other military targets”
