The club said it has signed the young Ghanaian, Mathew Cudjoe on a three year deal.

“Dundee United are delighted to announce that Ghanaian under 20 midfielder Mathew Cudjoe has agreed terms with the club”

Mathew Cudjoe helped Ghana to lift the U20 African Cup of Nations in March 2021. He played in all the six games including the very final where the young Ghanaian team beat Uganda two goals to zero.

Dundee United said they hope this oppotunity will help the 18year old develop his talent even more

“We are always looking at how we can improve and develop, and this opportunity has come at the right time for us to explore. Our aim is now to support Mathew and ensure he adapts to the club and understands how we can best support him on his journey” the club posted on their website.

Sporting Director of Dundee United, Tony Asgher says the entire club is so excited for Mathew on his new deal and wishes him the best.

“We are delighted to welcome Mathew to Dundee, he is a young and exciting talent that we can’t wait to watch develop further over the coming seasons” he said.

Cudjoe Anim has received several congratulatory messages from Ghana and beyond.

“superb news for Dundee United and Cudjoe Anim, welcome to Scotland, looking forward to coming to see you play at Tannadice Park” Iain Walker, former United Kingdom ambassador to Ghana said.

Mathew Cudjoe played for Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities. He’s thankful to everyone who contributed to his journey.

Mathew sent emotional message to his father Sammy Anim on twitter, expressing his gratitude and appreciation.
