Speaking at the ceremony, Macky sall said the players deserve more than what the country is giving them because they brought dignity and pride to Senegalese. He said winning an Afcon title was something his country has been dreaming of for a very long time, and the team made the dream manifest.
“we dreamed of the cup and you built this dream and made it come true. Finally, the Africa Cup of Nations is here with us. You have made us proud by making the name of Senegal resound all around the world. You have honoured the nation and in return, the nation you are so proud of owes you honours” said.
