Before they went for the tournament in Cameroon, one of the players’ wife went on his knees, kissed the feet of her husband and prayed for him. Their first match against trophy holders, Algeria surprised everyone when they had a draw. Before the tournament commenced, one Sierra Leone billionaire promised them huge amount of money if they win the trophy. Sierra Leone millionaire promise $500,000 national team if they win Afcon2021. Well maybe that alone is great motivation to them. The positive attitude all the players bring onboard in every match in the tournament is unmatched.
Their second match against Ivory Coast yesterday was just mind-boggling when they scored a 93rd minute goal to seal a 2-2 draw. As it stands, they only have 2 points in their group with one match left to play. They’re likely to qualify for the knock out stage because they will have 5 points if they win the next match. They’ll however go home if they lose or draw with their opponent. But for now, we will just sit back and enjoy the game.
The Afcon2021 competitions is currently ongoing. Africa, and football lovers across the world are enjoying every single match. It will end early next month where two countries will battle it out.
