Sol Bamba survived cancer; non-hodgkin lyphoma, returns to football to score a winning penalty goal for Middlesbrough against Manchester United as the club makes it through to the next stage of the FA Cup.

He really made history after his winner penalty goal against Manchester United. He battled cancer, managed recover in May 2021 and finally returned to football. After a year, he helped his club Middlesbrough knock Man United out of Emirates FA Cup

A year ago, Sol Bamba was diagnosed with non-hodgkin lyphoma.

He was the last man standing yesterday night to separate the men from the boys. Middlesbrough and Man United played a one one draw and went for penalties. Cristiano Ronaldo had earlier lost a penalty in the first half. Sol Bamba rose to the occasion for his team to deliver.

He posted on his twitter page to tell the world he still has what it takes to play.

“Relax guess I still got this. Fantastic result and incredible team spirit to win there. what a night” Bamba posted.
