South Africa woman, Thamara Sithole, gives birth to 10 babies (decuplets)

A woman in South Africa, Gosiame Thamara Sithole who’s only 37years has given birth to 10 babies (decuplets). Thamara gave birth to decuplets at a hospital in Pretoria on June 7, 2021.

The news came as big surprise to her as doctors told her she will give birth to six children. But a late scan conducted on her incorrectly revised the number to eight.

Thamara who is from Thembisa in a city of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality raised concerns of her unborn children, months to delivery purposely because of the number. She was initially concern of their health and rate of survival.

Luckily, all the babies were born alive, and will spend few months in incubators before Sithole and her husband can take all the 10 babies home. Her husband, Tsotetsi who is unemployed said he felt very ‘happy and emotional’ for his family after his lovely wife delivered successfully.

Her birth is believed to have broken the record of Halima Cisse from Mali, who gave birth to 9 babies just months ago in Morocco.

The new record she set came as a big surprise to her and her family because they were never expecting it.
