Suicide bomber kills 50 Muslim worshippers at Afghanistan mosque, leaving many with injuries
A suicide bomber attacked Muslim worshippers at Afghanistan’s Kunduz province, killing 50 on the spot and injuring many. The deadly incident has caused much agony among many people in Kunduz province and its surroundings. Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres minutes after the tragic incident condemned the sad incident. Reports from Health Officials told Reuters the death toll could rise “between 70 and 80 people”
This is actually Afghanistan’s third attack on a religious institution this week. Just last weekend there was an attack at a wedding ceremony, killing the bride and four other A bride and four others have died in a bomb explosion in Jowzjan, Afghanistan
“The militant Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing at a shiite Muslim mosque in Afghanistan” The Associated Press reports.
It has also been revealed that the attack “was the latest in a series of Islamic State attacks, targeting Afghanistan’s new Taliban rulers”
ISIS-K, an affiliate of ISIL claimed responsibility for the attack. They also revealed the bomber to be Muhammad al-Uighuri who was a member of China’s Uyghur Muslim Community.
