Taliban breaking promises – United Nations

Taliban not breaking their promises according to a United Nations official. UN said Taliban was not ready to keep its promise on how women are treated on Afghanistan and house house executions, Michelle Bachelet, High Commissioner for Human Rights revealed
“In contradiction to assurances that the Taliban would uphold women’s rights, over the last few weeks, women have instead been progressively excluded from the public sphere. Her comments followed days after Taliban announced interim government which excludes women. The High Commissioner also revealed how 12year teenage girls have been blocked from schools and instructed to stay home. There have been reports of Taliban saying ‘Afghan women should at home and cook’
General Secretary for United Nations, Antonio Guterres said last week Afghanistan was sitting on a ‘looming humanitarian catastrophe’ and need financial assistance.
