The Ghana Police Service Receives Accolades For Arresting A Truck Driver Who Broke Road Safety Laws

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a truck driver who was captured on camera for breaking road safety laws.

The image was uploaded by one Twitter user who was a witness at the scene.

According to the witness, the truck driver overtook a preceding car and his actions would have led to an accident.

The witness quickly took a picture of the situation and shared it on Twitter. The photo uploaded by the witness was captioned, “Dear @GhPoliceService ,

On my way to Accra on 30-12-21, this long vehicle with registration number GW 402 V, did this reckless overtaking at Kwahu Fodoa at about 9:41 am. The driver pushed oncoming vehicles off the road, at a no-overtaking zone.”

Fast forward, the offender was arrested by the Ghana Police Service.

In a tweet the Ghana Police Service said, “Driver of Vehicle with Registration Number GW 402 V Charged for Court

A suspect driver, Awal Mohammed, aged 31 has been arrested and charged for court for the following offences.”

The GPS received many accolades on the internet following the arrest of this offender.

This was the first time the police service has taken an immediate action against an offender.

The truck driver [offender] is yet to be prosecuted and fined. This will serve as a lesson to all truck drivers while they adhere to road safety rules.
