TPLF rebels retreat from Ethiopia war, call for peace

TPLF and its alliance rebels have been fighting the Ethiopian government for months

After over thirteen months of war, the TPLF together with its rebels have retreated. A letter addressed to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres by the National Regional State of Tigray endorsed by the President called for peace.

The war in the Tigray region has led to lost of lives in the region. People have been displaced from their homes, the girl child have been raped and impregnated.

Last month, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed joined the Ethiopian army in the front line to fight. His action to join Ethiopian troops was endorsed by keen leaders in the country. Making many of them to support his decision and even joining the fight.

“I have ordered those units of the Tigray Army that are outside the borders of Tigray to withdraw to the borders of Tigray with immediate effect”
