Thomas Tuchel prefers to keep Timo Werner Hakim Ziyech beyond the January transfer window according to Evening Standard

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has the edge of keeping Ziyech and Werner beyond the January transfer window. Both players joined Chelsea last year with high expectations from them by fans across the world but that seems to be difficult to achieve as the players struggle to perform.

They have not been consistent with their performances to impress the masses, leading to speculations about their stay at Chelsea. Thomas Tuchel is still very reluctant to lose the players despite doubt over their future, it is believed Tuchel would rather like to keep them until the summer according to Evening Standard.

Hakim Ziyech scored only nine goals with eight assists for Chelsea in 57 appearances in in over 18months. Timo Werner performed a little above Ziyech but still not encouraging. He also scored 34 goals across all contributions in 66 appearances. Both players have been benched on several occasions but multiple injuries and covid-19 made them have some play time.

callum Hudson Odoi, Chilwell, Romelu Lukaku, Kai Havertz including some attacking players have all been sidelined with injuries and covid-19. Lukaku however returned to training yesterday.
