Social media giant, Twitter is said to start charging $20 every month for verification badge

Twitter will soon charge $20 per month for its verification badge according to reports. The amount, totaling $240 per annum is said to be a charge for every account that is verified on the platform, report by The Verge indicates.

According to the report, Twitter will start charging $20 per month for verified accounts. It will also give a 90days ultimatum for accounts already verified to subscribe or lose their blue badge.

It’s obvious there would be new changes after billionaire, Elon Musk officially announced he has purchased the platform worth $44 billion, and as an entrepreneur, he’ll definitely be looking at ways and means to make money on his investment.

“The directive is to change Twitter Blue, the company’s optional $4.99 a month subscription that unlocks additional features, into a more expensive subscription that also verifies users according to people familiar with the matter. Twitter is currently planning to charge $19.99 for the new Twitter subscriptions. Under the current plan, verified users will have 90days to subscribe or lose their blue checkmark” The Verge reports

Employees working on the project have only 7days to deliver otherwise, they will be expelled.
