A Ukrainian couple who have been together for for 22 good years have finally married.

The military couple decided to formalise their relationship by marrying on the defence line on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Kyiv. Their friends celebrate with them as they both exchanged vows at the front line.
Lesya Ivashenko who is the bride quit her job to join the army after Russian soldiers invaded their Ukraine. She has not seen Valeriy Filimonov since Russian offensive until Sunday when they finally tied the knot.
A German war reporter, Paul Ronzheimer who works for Bild shared the video of the beautiful couple. In a short ceremony of the wedding, the couple were seen smiling together while their colleagues surround them.

Lesya shared how happy she was to see her love after a while.
“of course I’m happy, first of all, I’m glad we’re alive, that this day begun that my husband is alive and his with me and we decided. Who knows what will happen tomorrow. We should get married in front of the state in front of God. And we have an adult daughter, and I think she’s happy that we finally did it”
