University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been ranked best University in West Africa according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
The research centre has maintained that the the University of Cape Coast is the best University in Ghana, West Africa and fouth in the whole of Africa.

The Ghanaian University was also ranked best in Ghana and West Africa in 2022. It has been ranked as the best University in West Africa for the second conservative time for the year 2023.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is the world’s most prestigious university rankings which puts in accurate research tools to evaluate universities across five key areas research work, citations, teaching, industry incomes and international outlook.
The 2021 research analysed over 121 million citations in more than 15.5 million research publications, including survey responses from 40,000 scholars globally. In all, over 680,000 data points were collected from more than 2,500 institutions.
The 2023 include 104 countries and regions and 1,799 universities. Though the United States is first on the list, China seem to he catching up according to the data.
