Now that number may just trippled. According to reports, there were more than 40 high ranked Russian officers who were attacked by Ukrainian forces at the headquarters in Izium on April 30 and out of this number, 20 of them were confirmed to have been killed.
Former Ukrainian journalist and war veteran, Victor Kovalenko said about 20 of them could not survive the attack. The former army veteran posted the news on his twitter page.
“Yesterday, at the moment of the Ukraine attack, more than 40 high ranked Russian officers gathered in the headquarters in Izium. Reportedly, up to 20 of them are confirmed killed. General Andrey Simonov, a commander of the electric warfare forces of the west district” was also killed. He said
Apparently, the main target, Chief of General staff of RAR General Valeriy Gerasimov managed to escape.
According Victor Kovalenko, Kremlin had “sent him to getva victory for the May 9 parade” Kovalenko said though he was close to the blast, he only suffered severe injuries.
