(Video) Billionaires go to space for pleasure while millions are hungry on earth – Antonio Guterres

Billionaires go to space for pleasure while millions are hungry on earth – says United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres at United Nations General Assembly.
Opening the 76th United Nations General Assembly, Mr Antonio Guterres made some very daring but remarkable statements. He touched on how everything is fallen apart so quickly around the world. ‘We’re on the edge of abyss and moving in the wrong direction” he said in his opening speech.
According to him, a lot of people have lost their trust in governments and institutions including the United Nations, in the face of inequalities.

“our world has never been more threatened or more devided. We face the greatest cascade of crisis in our lifetimes. The climate crisis is pummelling the planet. Upheaval from Afghanistan to Ethiopia to Yemen and beyond has thwarted peace. A surge of mistrust and misinformation is polarizing people and paralyzing societies. Human rights are under fire and science is under assault” he said
Mr. Guterres also touched on Covid-19 and how vaccines are selfishly distributed across the world.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has supersized glaring inequalities, the picture we have seen from some parts of the world of Covid-19 vaccines in the garbage, expires and unused. A surplus in some countries, empty shelves in others. A majority of the wealthier world vaccinated over 90% of Africans still waiting for their first dose” he emphasized.

Mr. Guterres also criticized world billionaires for having pleasure in going to space while millions are hungry on earth. Both Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos went to space months ago. And these are billionaires of our time and it’s clear Mr. Guterres is not very happy with such a lavish lifestye when lots of people are hungry on earth.
