Guinea military summoned Government officials to release all state assets. Leader of the coup, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya said they can’t leave the country without appropriate approval or authorization. They are asking that, Government officials release all vehicles and any form of asset in their custody.

President Alpha Conde was toppled by his own military on September 5, 2021 after Colonel Mamady Doumbouya and his squad arrested him at the Presidential Palace.

This morning, the military headed by Colonel Mamady Doumbouya summoned government officials, telling them they can’t leave the country unless they are appropriately approved. Watch video below

President of and chairman of Ecowas, Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana released a statement on behalf of the West African organization, condemning the action by the military.

“Ecowas notes with great concern the recent political developments which have occurred in Conakry, Capital of the Republic of Guinea. Ecowas condemns unreservedly the attempted coup on Sunday September 5, 2021” He posted on his Facebook wall.

He’s statement was welcome with several backlash comments as majority of people criticize his statement solely because President Alpha Conde modified the constitution to suit his third term in office. Many have questioned his support for him.
